Lemon Mint Facial Toner

This has got to be my favorite beauty recipe.  I use it every single night!  I've made it for so many friend's birthdays.  This is a beauty product I really believe in.  It only has 3 ingredients, witch hazel, lemon essential oil, and peppermint essential oil.  The main ingredients, witch hazel, is a natural inflammatory and astringent.  It is used to help treat acne,  remove excess oil without over drying,  reduce redness, as well as minimize sun damage.

Lemon essential oil is also a natural astringent and used to remove dirt and oil.  Lemon essential oil also has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that can help aid in acne treatment.  Just be careful to not use lemon essential oil products during the day.  Lemon makes your skin extra sensitive to the sun and can cause photo-toxicity.

Peppermint essential oil has antimicrobial properties for a little more acne fighting power.  While the other two ingredients help remove oil, peppermint helps control oil production.  Peppermint also contains menthol which produces a cooling effect.

What you'll need:

2oz Amber glass spray bottle (essential oils can leach chemicals from metal and plastic)

Directions:

Add the following ingredients to your spray bottle:

10 drops lemon essential oil

6 drops peppermint essential oil

fill bottle with witch hazel

The oil will separate from the witch hazel, so be sure to give it a good shake before each use.  After removing my makeup and washing my face, I spray a generous amount on a flat cotton round and apply to my face.

You'll be left with a nice tingly feeling and your skin will feel amazing!
